Step into Harvest Hills Day
Care center and you can't help but
feel the fun! You'll see smiling kids playing stimulating games, reading and
sharing, creating and building. You'll see fun with sand and songs, brushes and
books, puzzles and paint, and more. This may look like just fun and games, but
you're seeing something else as well—learning. Studies have found that children
are more likely to retain information learned when they are engaged in enjoyable
and meaningful activities. And that's just what we do at Harvest Hills Day Care.
The skills and knowledge children acquire today play a major role in determining
who they'll be tomorrow. That's why choosing a daycare provider is one of the
most important decisions you can make. We understand the significance of your
choice and offer you the information and resources on this site to help you make
an informed, confident, daycare decision.
Harvest Hills Day Care is committed to providing quality in child care.
Our staff of caring, well-trained and experienced professionals maintain a

OUR GOAL
As caregivers we have a unique privilege to provide children with quality experiences during the early stages of their lives. It is important then to provide a supportive, nurturing setting in which each child is treated as an individual with his or her own strengths, needs, and unique characteristics.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
Harvest Hills Day Care is a Christian based child care facility. We incorporate these values into the daily routine. We believe that the parent’s position and relationship with their child is the greatest influence in the life of their child and support their role by providing a nurturing environment where their child is provided with the opportunity to feel effective, experience success, and to gain a positive self-concept.
OUR COMMITMENT
We are committed to providing quality child care in a safe and fun learning environment. Our goal is to capture the interest of children and to create a fun and loving place in which children can make discoveries, solve problems, develop social skills and gain confidence in their abilities.
LICENSING: Harvest Hills Day Care is licensed and inspected by the State and City Health Departments, and by the Maine State Fire Marshal. The license is subject to annual renewal and yearly inspections.
MEALS: Breakfast, lunch, and snacks are provided by the daycare. The cost is not included in the cost of child care. Meals are balanced and nutritious. We try to choose foods that your children will enjoy. On the first of each month, you will receive the full monthly menu with the monthly newsletter, listing all the meals that we will be providing. The menus are posted at the facility and may also be viewed on this web site under 'Parent's Corner' > 'Menus'. You are welcome to provide a bagged lunch from home if there is a meal your child can not eat.
DRILLS: Fire drills are held monthly to help the children understand what to do in case of a fire emergency.
IN THE EVENT OF A MAJOR DISASTER: If the children have to be moved from this site, there will be a contact person at the Day Care and you will be notified as to where you can find your child. In the event of severe weather (blizzard), the Day Care may close, so please call ahead, before bringing your child, or watch News Center 6. http://www.wcsh6.com/weather/ for storm cancellations.
